As digital natives, students expect instant access to all their services wherever they are. Student Swipe gives tenants everything they need, in one place.
Ashcourt Student Accommodation approached us to help them exceed students’ changing expectations through a bespoke property app. Just like the purpose-built, exclusive and secure student accommodation that Ashcourt provides, the app needed to deliver an all-round exceptional tenant experience.
The app had to support students throughout their entire accommodation journey, from helping them to find the very best properties all the way through to making payments and managing maintenance issues. At the same time, it also had to support landlords, contractors and Ashcourt as well.
This required a deep understanding of not just what students want but the people and processes supporting them throughout their time at university.

Working with Ashcourt
We worked with Ashcourt’s Accommodation Manager to identify the key challenges that students face in their day-to-day lives and where we could help to make their stay at university better.
We then considered the same student journey but from the perspective of other key people involved. This enabled us to build a platform that supports four distinct personas: tenants, landlords, letting agents, and contractors.

Building an end-to-end student accommodation experience.
Every stage of the student accommodation experience is supported – from house hunting all the way through to managing maintenance requests and rental payments.
The app features 360° property tours and requests for viewings which makes it easy for students to find the right home for their university stay. Ahead of moving in, students can chat with their new housemates which eases any nerves – a common concern we proved during discovery.
Maintenance requests are no longer a mix of texts, emails, and phone calls. From a single place, tenants can send detailed reports and images of maintenance issues directly to their provider. This gives every user a clear overview of how any ongoing issues are progressing – from the same place they manage payments and tenancy agreements.
