“So we’ve been talking for a little while about the post-app era. And lots of people ask us what it means. Particularly for us as an app development agency. It’s actually an exciting time because we’ve got a whole array of new technologies coming out. Things like augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). And sat in the middle of all this tech is mobile!
We’ve always talked about the fact that mobile users are really task-focused. And now increasingly in the post-app era, what we’re going to see is that apps. Rather than being a destination, are the facilitator for achieving the different tasks.
So, increasingly we’ll be interacting with apps through voice-activated assistants. Or through push notifications rather than opening the app. We’ll be using iBeacons and NFC in the real world. And we’ll be able to achieve all the different things we want. Without ever actually physically opening the app.
This is a really exciting time for both us and businesses. As we look at how we can use these new technologies to merge the physical and digital worlds together.”
