A question we get asked a lot, ‘How early should I start marketing my app?’ and one which the success of your app relies on. When developing an app, one of the first things you need to establish is your user base. Understand how they behave and how you can target them. If you’re already got an online presence you can begin building up momentum in the lead up to your apps release date. If you haven’t got an online presence yet, then consider creating a little microsite and social media channels. It’s important to build up your user base, so they’re ready to download your app as soon as it’s launched.

So marketing your app will be key to the apps success. The earlier on you can start this, the bigger the user base you can build up. Which means the more people will be there ready to download your app when it’s finally launched. One of the key things you’ve got to do to begin with, is obviously establish where your audience are going to be. So if you’ve already got an existing presence online, such as a website or your social media channels, use them. Start preparing your audience on there for the launch of your app. If you’re starting afresh and don’t have anything yet, then look at creating something. It’s quite easy to create a little microsite or set up some social media channels so that you can start building that user base as soon as possible really.
