Project Aims

Sonin worked with Land Tech to produce a bespoke iOS and Android platform to complement their successful desktop app.

The primary goal for the app was to replace the manual tasks involved in acquiring land such as site discovery, evaluation, funding preparation and project pipeline management into a single mobile app solution.  

KEY FEATURES ON THE PLATFORM

• Map with Geo-Location Functionality (Left)

This allows users to be able to identify and select areas of land that are nearest to them (via geo-location) as well as search for land elsewhere.

Boundaries of land ownership are broken down and overlaid on the map, allowing users to be able to identify and select areas of land that are of interest to them. Property professionals can view basic information about a parcel of land such as the owner and size, as well as having the ability to view photos of it too.

• Site pipeline (Right)

This feature shows a collection of all the sites saved by a single user.

It is displayed on screen with different columns where users can move a site they are considering acquiring through the pipeline to show the progression of the sale. They can see information such as who is currently assigned that site as well as basic information about the land e.g. size and ownership.

The Challenge

Land Tech faced a challenge in streamlining the property development process.

Developers frequently encountered potential land opportunities while on the move, leading to manual tasks and delayed data submission via the Land Tech desktop app.

Recognising the need for a more efficient solution, Land Tech wanted to develop a mobile app that would provide property developers with convenient and swift access to information while on-the-go.

Their goal was to improve performance and user experience both on the desktop app and in a portable format.

THE APPROACH

We collaborated with Land Tech to create a mobile application available on iOS and Android platforms to complement their existing web platform.

First, we undertook research to understand the specific manual tasks that needed embedding within the app.

We also implemented enhanced analytics within the product to establish a baseline understanding of user behaviour which would enable us to understand the overlap between desktop and app users.

Specific goals, such as user value actions, average number of monthly site creations, and daily, weekly, and monthly active users, were set to measure and track the success of meeting these objectives.

THE RESULT

The collaboration between Sonin and Land Tech achieved impressive results.

The iOS and Android app received high user satisfaction and adoption rates.

The app provides property developers with a seamless digital experience, empowering them to expedite and de-risk their site assessments.
