Using Augmented Reality to turn Shell’s proposition into an interactive and engaging experience. Creating memorable moments for visitors to Shell’s offices and event spaces.

BACKGROUND

Companies with eye-catching and creative exhibition stands at events often see the most footfall and see a higher ROI.

But as everyone uses brighter colours and more lights, it becomes harder to stand out. That’s why Shell approached us to turn its space at the “Make the Future” event into an interactive and engaging experience for attendees.

APPROACH

Once we understood the story Shell wanted to tell and their goal of driving engagement among their audience, we mapped out all the expert thought branded content that the team had already produced.

After brainstorming different ways we could turn this content into an interactive experience, we arrived at on-screen Augmented Reality (AR) as, unlike VR, it did not have the limitations associated with headsets.

OUTCOME

The AR iPad app uses the device’s built-in camera and image recognition to trigger entertaining and educational content depending on what part of the display users focus on.

Scanning Shell’s static stand at their Make the Future Event transforms the wall into an immersive, memorable experience. School children can then explore Shell’s process through an interactive and informative AR exhibition app.  

The app has helped Shell to engage audiences in a completely new way.
