With spring bringing longer days and a fresh sense of energy, it’s the perfect time for new beginnings, and at Sonin, that includes welcoming some brilliant new talent.
After a busy start to the year, we’re thrilled to introduce four new team members: Ken, Beverley, Max and Hanna. Each brings their own experience, perspective and passion to the work we do and will be playing a big part in helping us build the right product for our clients.
In this article, we get to know them a little better; from their career journeys and what drew them to Sonin, to what lights them up outside of work.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to join Sonin?
Ken: I joined Sonin because of its forward-thinking approach, exciting products, and ambitious growth plans. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of a company that is constantly evolving and pushing boundaries.
Beverley: I’ve been in the tech industry for around 14 years now – time really does fly when you’re having fun!I started at a small software company working with major UK banks like Lloyds and Halifax. I progressed from Support Analyst to Project and Test Coordinator—which I absolutely loved.
After spending 11 years in that role, I took on a new challenge during lockdown at another software company that focused on print and marketing solutions. While it was a new industry for me, I adapted quickly and embraced the print world. However, I soon realised I wanted to explore new business sectors. When I came across Sonin, I was excited by the opportunity to work across various industries with a supportive and personable team. I can’t wait to continue growing my knowledge and working with clients from all walks of life!
Max: I came from a digital marketing agency, where I focused on financial sector clients – specifically asset management companies. I was looking for a role that would allow me to gain a deeper understanding of unique business challenges, and when I discovered Sonin, I instantly knew it was the right next step for my career.
Hanna: I’ve been working in software development for nearly 10 years, ever since a friend encouraged me to take a practical course in Android development (which I instantly loved!) Since then, I’ve been dedicated to Android development. At this stage in my career, I was looking to join a team with a diverse range of clients with engaging projects, in a company where I can contribute to both process improvements and the development itself.
What will your role involve, and what are you most excited about working on?
Ken: As a New Business Salesperson, my role is all about prospecting and identifying new opportunities for Sonin. I’m excited to help drive growth by bringing in new clients and contributing to the company’s continued success.
Beverley: As a Project Manager, I’ll be overseeing project lifecycles from start to finish. My key responsibilities include project planning, collaboration management, risk mitigation, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, client relations and process optimisation. I’m particularly excited about immersing myself in our customers’ industries, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality project experiences. I can’t wait to learn more about Sonin’s software development lifecycle and expand my expertise in new areas.
Max: I’ll also be working in project management, focusing on planning, tracking, and risk management. What excites me most is the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects while building strong relationships with both clients and our internal team.
Hanna: I’m currently working as an Android Developer and really looking forward to contributing to some of the exciting client projects we have underway. What I’m most excited about, though, is the opportunity to work closely with James, Sonin’s Lead Android Developer; he brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and has already proven to be a fantastic mentor.
What are some of your interests or hobbies outside of work?
Ken: I love spending time with my family, including my two children. I’m also an avid tennis player and keen cyclist.
Beverley: I’m really into anything active! My main hobby is indoor rock climbing—both top rope and bouldering—which I try to do a couple of times a week. I also love exploring new places through long walks and hikes with my dog.
Max: I’m passionate about sports and regularly play football and padel, as well as signing up for distance runs. I’m also a big foodie—you’ll often find me at wing festivals, BBQ events, or trying out new food spots!
Hanna: Outside of work, like Beverley, I really enjoy rock climbing! I also like tackling all kinds of puzzles – so anything that keeps me thinking and moving.
What has been your first impression of the team and company culture so far?
Ken: My experience with Sonin has been incredibly positive—everyone has been so welcoming and helpful.
Beverley: The team has been amazing! From day one, they’ve been warm, friendly, and incredibly supportive. The onboarding process has been well-structured and clear, making me feel lucky to be part of such a great team. I’m really looking forward to the months ahead!
Max: The team is highly collaborative and aligned on the same goals, which creates a strong and cohesive work environment. It’s exciting to be part of a company where everyone is working towards the same vision.
Hanna: A fast-paced environment with genuinely lovely people. It’s been great jumping in and feeling welcomed right away.
