ServicePoint is being seen as the way to run IT projects internally.

SENIOR IT DIRECTOR, ISS

The Challenge

ISS is one of the world’s largest facilities management companies, running complex, highly regulated estates for major government and corporate clients.

As contracts grew in scale, existing tools couldn’t keep up, with job logging, SLA compliance and evidencing still reliant on manual, paper-based processes.

ISS partnered with Sonin to build a digital platform for its most demanding contracts, delivering real-time job logging and audit-ready evidence at a landmark government scale.

Why it Mattered

ISS’s engineers and subcontractors keep hundreds of government sites running, often under strict compliance requirements. The platform needed to serve the engineers on the ground, the administrators at base, and the clients relying on ISS to deliver on its commitments.

Contract Delivery

ISS had made commitments to DWP that required a credible, scalable operational platform. Delivering on those promises consistently across 661 sites required infrastructure that did not yet exist.

Compliance and Risk

In a government contract environment, proving that the right engineer with the right qualifications completed the right job is essential. Every swipe, work order and site visit needed to be logged and auditable.

Workforce Capability

Engineers and subcontractors working across hundreds of sites needed tools that worked for people on the ground and for administrators back at base.

Commercial Performance

A platform that could prove compliance and demonstrate operational excellence at scale would strengthen ISS’s position in future contract bids.

How we helped

Sonin designed and delivered Service Point, a three-component job management platform, in partnership with Unigold, ISS’s certified hardware partner and first line of support across the estate.

Discovery & Design

Mapped engineer and administrator workflows across the DWP estate, then designed two distinct user journeys with competency checks built into login and a work order flow built for field use.

Build & Integration

Developed three connected products: Kiosk Hub, Web Portal CMS and Kiosk Lite. Integrated with Skill Guard for live competency data and audit logging, and with Maximo, ISS’s primary data warehouse, with TriRiga and a full CAFM integration layer to follow.

Roll out

Rolled out in phases to protect the live government estate, with the CMS launching in October 2025 and the full platform going live across 661 sites in March 2026, 11 months after project start.

Adoption

Unigold provisioned and installed every tablet on site. Hexnode MDM manages device policies, app versions and updates estate-wide from a single portal, with separate test and live environments preventing untested changes reaching live sites.

The Impact

Engineers and subcontractors across 661 government sites now log, complete and evidence every job on one digital platform, with competency checks built in at login and a full audit trail
behind every task.

What started as a replacement for paper-based processes is now core infrastructure for ISS, with two further products commissioned before the end of year one.
